***CONTEST CLOSED. THANKS FOR ENTERING!***
There's nothing quite like stepping out of a hot shower and right into the plush softness of a clean, fresh-smelling towel. Except, of course, when you find yourself faced with a linen closet full of stale, unappealing and, well, smelly towels.
It would stand to reason that rewashing said towels, along with adding more detergent to the load of laundry, would help to alleviate the problem, but the truth is that taking these steps can actually worsen your odor issues. Here's why:Overuse of detergents, use of fabric softener, and/or using only low water temperatures for washing will cause odor in your washer. The odor-causing residue and mold spores are transferred to towels and clothing, and are impossible to remove until the washer has been cleaned. Towels are more plush than clothing, therefore absorbing more mold spores. Also, towels are used near the face and when wet so odor is more noticeable. If detergents and fabric softeners (which are supposed to help freshen your towels and clothing) are actually the culprits behind persistent, unpleasant odors, what can you trust to get the job done?

Say "Hello!" to a revolutionary new product created by the makers of Smelly Washer - Smelly Towel Cleaner. Smelly Towel Cleaner works much in the same way as its predecessor, except that it does not require an empty washer to work. Instead, simply toss any dirty towels or clothing into your load of laundry and use Smelly Towel Cleaner to eliminate the root of the problem.
Dangerous molds and allergens, along with fungus and mildew, are specifically targeted by Smelly Towel Cleaner's citrus-based formula. The result is towels and clothing that are free of embarrassing odor, thanks to the elimination of harmful residue and spores that can otherwise ruin your belongings.
For review, I received a bottle of Smelly Towel Cleaner, which is good for up to 24 treatments. Besides showing a rather humorous picture (how many of you feel like this when you're walking your laundry to the washer? ;), the label clearly states that this product is all-natural. This is something that I can appreciate quite a bit since I would hate to have to use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning agents to get the job done. The directions state to wash a full load of towels or clothing in hot water and add one capful of Smelly Towel Cleaner in place of detergent (more extreme cases may require a 2-hour soaking period in order to fully remove odors). Since every day is laundry day around here, I gathered a load's worth of our dirty towels and tossed them into the wash along with the recommended amount of Smelly Towel Cleaner.
When all was said and done, the towels I removed from our dryer were soft, fluffy, and smelled wonderfully fresh - no hint of leftover must or residue whatsoever. I didn't think that they were particularly smelly or moldy before using the Smelly Towel Cleaner, but boy was I wrong when I took a sniff of those clean towels and noticed the difference! A word to the wise: even if you don't believe that your towels are in need of a good thorough cleaning, chances are that they actually are. ;)
