PNI Digital Media Inc. (or just plain "PNI") is the leading distributor of on-line and in-store digital media solutions for major retailers (think Wal-Mart, CVS, Sam's Club). They provide the means by which these retailers can offer personalized photo products, including but not limited to:

I came into contact with Ellen Marden, a representative of PNI, through The Product Review Place. She provided me with a list of photo gift ideas and asked me to select the ones that interested me most so that I could feature them here at Ruminations. After much consideration, I decided to review a photo book from CVS and two products from Sam's Club, a personalized calendar and a photo collage.
The first step in putting together my photo gifts was creating an on-line account with both CVS and Sam's Club (the latter also requires Club membership to process orders). Afterwards I was asked to upload the photos that I wanted to use into an on-line album that would be saved for future access. Once the photos were safely stored on their secure servers, I was given specific instructions on how to put together each product (choosing a template of my choice, dragging and placing photos right where I wanted them to appear, inputting text and captions, etc.).Once the projects were completed, I was able to choose the method of delivery of my choice. I decided to have the photo book shipped to me, and asked to pick up the Sam's Club photo gifts at my nearest local retailer. The entire process was quick and easy, and I literally received all three of my photo gifts within a week's time. For your viewing pleasure, here are some samples of the finished products:
